The Situation
Badham Farm Holiday Cottages are set in the peace and tranquility
of the Cornish countryside.

Badham Farm was once part of Prince Charles' Duchy Estate and is situated amongst delightful woodland in the Looe Valley. The grounds of about 4.5 acres are peaceful and quiet and are bordered by a small stream.
There is a well stocked coarse fishing lake for those interested in the sport. If you are not a fisherman, you can just relax and watch the fish and many varieties of birds including buzzards, herons, kingfishers, wild ducks, wrens, jays, blue tits, finches and many kinds of dragon flies.

This delightful cottage is built on sloping ground
and has 'upside down' accommodation:
• The front door enters into the large kitchen with
dishwasher etc
• An open doorway leads to the sitting/dining room
• A cloakroom with toilet and basin opens out of the kitchen
• The living room, with the original beamed ceiling, has fine views over woodland
• The two bedrooms - one with double bed and a family room with double bed and 3ft bunks - are downstairs
• The bathroom is downstairs and a door at this level leads to the garden and patio

More Information On Facilities

All units have fully equipped kitchens with microwave, fridge, freezer, full size cooker, iron and ironing board, coffee maker, toaster etc.
Welcome tea tray with coffee, tea, sugar and milk, and bottle of wine on arrival.
All cleaning materials are provided.
The beds have duvets, but blankets are available on request.
All linen, towels and tea towels are provided free of charge, these will be replaced in the middle of a two week stay.
Electricity is included in the price. Night storage heating is included in the winter months.
The Farmhouse has full central heating (radiators).
All cottages have television with video players, hairdryer and electric blanket. Electric fires in most rooms for summer use.
A selection of videos are available in the games room.
Cots, highchairs and baby bath etc are available on request at no extra charge. No linen is provided for cots, please bring your own.
A laundry room with coin operated washing machines and tumble dryers is available. Rotary dryers are available near the putting green.
All cottages have garden furniture provided.
Payphone available at all times.
Car Parking is available in the two car parks: Farmhouse (3 spaces at Looe end)

A small shop is available supplying basic food requirements, frozen items, sweets, ice cream and eggs from our own hens. Please note that the shop will be open morning and evening - 9.30am to 10.00am and 5.30pm to 6.00pm. Return the shopping list provided and we will make sure the provisions are in your cottage on your arrival.

Local attractions:
Badham Farm is an ideal location for exploring the many attractions in Cornwall and West Devon.

Looe with its sandy beach, boat trips and many good restaurants and old traditional pubs is only a short drive away (3 miles) or you can take the railcar from Causeland Halt, close by Badham Farm, along the picturesque Looe Valley Line down to the sea.


The railcar service operates between Liskeard and Looe and stops on request at Causeland Halt, adjacent to the grounds of Badham Farm. The service runs, in either direction, on an approximately hourly interval during the summer season, pay on the train. Other areas of Cornwall can be explored by train from the main line at Liskeard.

The Situation
Trecan Farm self-catering holiday cottages are built from traditional Cornish stone and provide the perfect setting for a peaceful relaxing holiday. Approached by a long private tree-lined drive the four cottages are surrounded by beautiful open countryside.

Children can play safely in the paddocks, meet the goats or feed the rabbits and chickens and collect eggs.

We also have our own all weather tennis court and a games barn with snooker, table tennis and darts. Trecan Farm Cottages are situated only 15 minutes from the acclaimed Eden Project, or for the more active, swimming, golf, bowling, riding and watersports are all close by.

Come and see for yourselves why so many of our guests return year after year. You can be sure that a warm welcome awaits you in our personally supervised cottages.

All four cottages are built of traditional Cornish stone, fully double-glazed and centrally heated, each with its own enclosed garden, beautiful views and ample Parking.

With your warmth and comfort in mind, they each have attractive woodburners with logs provided. The kitchens are extremely well equipped with modern units, a double oven cooker, refrigerator, microwave etc.

The beds are made up for your arrival with duvets/blankets, duvet covers and sheets, but we do not provide cot bedding. Towels are available on request. For young children, baby equipment is available and babysitting can usually be arranged. There is a laundry room with an automatic washing machine and tumble drier.

If you wish to bring your dog we will gladly discuss arrangements with you. We do however make a charge to cover the extra cleaning costs. .

The Cottages The Hayloft (sleeps 4+cot/guest bed)
Sleeps four people with space for a cot or guest bed. It has two bedrooms - one with a double bed and the other with a double and single bed, washbasin and shaver point. It has a fully tiled shower room and toilet.

The ground floor is open-plan with a natural pine staircase dividing the kitchen and dining area from the lounge, which has a comfortable three-piece suite, colour TV and video.

Designed in this way, the heat from the woodburner circulates throughout the cottage, keeping it warm and cosy, although the cottage also has oil-fired central heating.

Holly Cottage (sleeps 5+cot)
Sleeps five with space for a cot. With full oil-fired central heating, this cottage has a lovely spacious lounge with colour TV and video, separate fully equipped kitchen with large pine table, and two bedrooms - one with a double and single bed, the other with a double bed, washbasin and shaver point.

The separate shower room is fully tiled, with shower, wc and washbasin.

The Linhay (sleeps 5+cot)
With three bedrooms, this holiday cottage sleeps five with space for a cot. The main bedroom has a double bed, the second has twin beds and the third is a small room with a single bed.

There is a bathroom with toilet, bath and shower, as well as a small cloakroom with toilet and washbasin downstairs. The lounge has a natural stone fireplace, colour TV with teletext and video, while the kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher.

Ricann Cottage (sleeps 4+)
Recently converted from a barn to a very high standard using all the latest energy saving techniques. This holiday cottage is detached with oil-fired central heating, antique pine furniture, and sleeps 4-6 in two bedrooms.

There is a small cloakroom off the entrance hallway, which leads to the fully equipped kitchen complete with a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee machine and even a TV in the dining area.

The lounge with its high ceiling and exposed beams is complemented by the rich tones of the soft furnishings and carpet, and has a woodburner fire, widescreen Dolby surround sound TV, Nicam stereo video and radio cassette CD player. The galleried landing leads to the main ensuite bedroom, with double bed.

The second bedroom downstairs also has ensuite bathroom with bath and shower, and has twin beds, pine furniture, built in wardrobe and TV. Please note: we are sorry, but we do not accept pets in this cottage.

Local attractions:
There are plenty of things to do Locally, and the whole of Cornwall with its spectacular coastline, magnificent scenery and beaches is within comfortable motoring distance. A short walk from the cottage is Porfell Animal Land , with many exotic animals.

Looe remains one of the busiest fishing ports in Cornwall, and offers safe sandy beaches and quaint whitewashed buildings, cobbled lanes and good restaurants. Coarse fishing, shark fishing, golf, riding and watersports can all be found nearby.

The new acclaimed Eden Project is only 15 minutes away, where the majestic rainforests, the Mediterranean, South Africa and California are recreated in huge covered conservatories, or Biomes, to tell the fascinating story of mankind's dependence on plants.


The nearby small villages of Lerryn and Lanreath give a taste of country life, with welcoming inns and friendly tea rooms for the traditional Cornish Pasties and Cream Teas.

Exploring is easy! Walk the Cornish Coastal Path and find secluded little coves and beaches, or visit Fowey, Polperro and Looe (famous for shark and deep sea fishing), with their quaint narrow streets and many good restaurants.

There are numerous beautiful gardens and National Trust Houses in the area. Truro is only 35 miles and Plymouth 25 miles away, both cities provide excellent shopping facilities.

The Situation
Driftwood is a large detached traditional house decorated and furnished to a very high standard. It is situated on the outskirts of Looe town centre, out of the hustle and bustle of this popular little resort. It has outstanding sea views, being directly in front of Looe Island, most bedrooms and the dining area have this view.

Directions


Entering Looe via the B3253 with the river on your right: Turn right over the bridge. Immediately after the bridge turn left, the river is then on your left. Follow this road until you see Looe Island, you will then see some tennis courts on your right. Approximately 100 yards after the tennis courts turn right into Portuan Road, after a short distance turn left at a 'T' junction. Driftwood is a short distance on the right.
Entering via the A387 Polperro direction: On reaching the river bridge, turn right, the river is then on your left. Directions are then as above

Local attractions:

Driftwood is south facing and overlooks the bowling green it is situated just a short distance from the sea front and with excellent views of the coastline and Looe Island.
The house is in a cul-de-sac, hence it is very quiet and virtually free from traffic movement.
It is ideal for walks along the sea front coastal footpath. It is a comfortable walk, or a very short drive into the town centre.

Looe is a bustling all year round seaside resort that still retains much of its old fishing port heritage.
The town provides:
A good selection of shops with a wide range of speciality and High Street names.
A good choice of restaurants, pubs and tea rooms.
A sheltered sandy beach (Blue Flag), very popular with families.
A large harbour with boats of every description.
Deep sea/shark fishing, pleasure boat trips.
Rod fishing from the harbour wall is very popular with both adults and children alike.
Bowling and Putting green nearby, Golf courses and riding schools about 10 mins.
Excellent coastal and woodland walks.
A first class tourist information centre.

Looe is often linked to the small fishing village of Polperro. This picturesque little village is well worth a visit and very popular in the summer months.

Plymouth City - a short drive, there is a very scenic coastal route. The city provides excellent shopping in traffic free streets. There is also a large harbour (The Barbican) (Pilgrim Fathers fame) with excellent restaurants, pubs and the boat trips are highly recommended.

Touring
Numerous quiet little coves/beaches and wide open headlands.
The Eden Project is approximately a 30-minute drive.
For those who enjoy the wide open spaces, Dartmoor is an easy drive.
Cornwall is probably the most beautiful county in the country, but quite small. Most places can be reached within an hours drive.
