The Boat House is situated on the
banks of one of the most beautiful tidal
estuaries in Cornwall.
The Fowey River runs from its source
high on Bodmin Moor near the world
famous Jamaica Inn down through the
leafy woods of the Glynn Valley.
It passes Lanhydrock House, one of the
most visited National Trust properties
in the country. Gathering in size it
passes right through the ancient
stannery town of Lostwithiel heading on
to the river mouth at Fowey
The true spirit of the county can be
experienced throughout this area of
Cornwall with a wide range of landscapes
from the bracken covered moors to the
stunning cliffs linked by hidden
woodlands, each with its own wildlife.
Well publicised walks encourage the
visitor to explore areas with all levels
of ability catered for.
Bird watching, horse riding, fishing and
golf are available within 3 miles of the
cottage.
We are surrounded by a selection of
beaches.
Despite all these distractions many
people come to the Boat House and find
that all they want to do is watch the
tide come in and out.
