The Situation |
|
A grade ll listed stone cottage in the
quiet, picturesque little rural hamlet of
Tregavarras. It is in a small row of similar
cottages with views of the countryside from
the front and rear.
The accommodation has been extensively
modernised throughout and furnished and
decorated to a high standard by the present
owners, who also use it as a holiday
retreat. |

Bedroom 2 - Twin beds
Bedroom 3 - Single bed
(Duvets and pillows provided, but not linen)
Hairdryer and baby bath also provided.

Sitting room with comfortable furnishings,
television, open beamed ceiling.
Separate dining room
Fully equipped kitchen, including electric
cooker, microwave, fridge, ironing
facilities.
Quite unusual, and a great favourite with
visiting children, the kitchen has a trap
door with stairs leading down to a utility
room with freezer, washing machine and
washbasin. There is a second toilet and
secondary access to the garden.
Hot water is provided by immersion heater.
Central heating is available for the cooler
months by arrangement, making the cottage
ideal for out of season breaks.
At the rear of the property there are upper
and lower lawned gardens, at the bottom of
which there is a small stream.
Garden furniture and charcoal type BBQ
provided.
Well behaved pets are welcome but we do ask
that they be kept under strict control in
and about the cottage and cause no damage.

Local attractions: |
Porthluney Cove with the backdrop of
Caerhays Castle and fine sandy beach
is only a 10 minute walk over
fields, or a couple of minutes in
the car. There is ample Parking with
a small cafe and toilet adjacent.
The spectacular coastal path is only
a few minutes away, with scenic
walks to Dodman Point/Gorran Haven
or westwards to Portholland/Portloe.
Caerhays Castle and Gardens.

Lost Gardens of Heligan - just a
short drive
The little village of Gorran is only
a short drive or a pleasant walk
starting in the field behind the
cottage. It has a very nice pub and
basic needs in one shops which is
open until 8.00 p.m.
Mevagissey - just a short drive,
numerous
restaurants/pubs/shops/fishing
trips/ferry to Fowey. Very popular
during the summer months.
Sandy beaches - several within a
short drive, Caerhays is the closest
and only a 10 minute walk.
Cycle hire is available at Pentewan.
Pubs (meals). Several in the area.
These include, St Ewe, Pentewan and
Polgooth. All are recommended.
St Austell town. Just a 15 minute
drive and the closest major shopping
centre. Both Asda & Tesco are on the
A390 St Austell by-pass. The town
also provides good swimming
baths/multi screen cinema.
Charlestown - an historic little
village famous for film making, its
tall ships and a very good Shipwreck
Heritage Centre.
Fowey - a very popular little town
on the river Fowey River estuary
Although there is plenty to do
Locally many popular places are
within easy reach.
As a rough guide within an hour or
less:
The whole Roseland Peninsula, with
numerous little coves and headlands.
This includes St Mawes with boat
trips up the Helford River and to
Falmouth.
Truro City. Excellent shopping and
cathedral.
Many north coast resorts including
Newquay/St Ives
Bodmin Moor - moorland walks. |
