| The Lizard Peninsula
Cornwall is the most southerly part of
the British mainland. It's a unique
landscape of extensive heathlands,
cliffs, woodland, creeks and sandy
beaches. |

|
The mild
climate and unusual geology landscape have
created an area of outstanding nature
conservation interest. Over 250 species of
national or international importance are
found here, many of which are restricted to
the region.
In the clean water
surrounding the Peninsula, seals, dolphins
and plankton - eating basking sharks can
often be seen. |

| This is a
delightful part of the country for walking,
horse riding, bird watching, and exploring.
Kennack Sands has two fine sandy beaches
offering safe bathing and surfing.
Divers can enjoy the clear
water's and dive the numerous reefs and
wrecks along this coast and The Manacles.
