The Situation
This stone built fisherman's cottage dating back several centuries is situated on opposite sides of Lansallos Street in the heart of the old part of Polperro village just a few yards from the ancient picturesque harbour. Polperro's variety of dining opportunities and character pubs are all within a short stroll. The coastal path for the National Trust walks to Looe (4.5 miles) in one direction and Bodinnick (for the ferry to Fowey - 8 miles) in the other, are also very close by.

The ground floor is open plan with a kitchen/dining area to the left featuring custom built kitchen with a Belfast sink, beech worktops, electric cooker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and washer/dryer and pine dining table with six chairs.

In the lounge area is the original open fireplace with a slate tiled hearth, teletext television , video, and music system with CD/cassette/radio. There is a comfy three seater settee and two large wicker armchairs.

Stairs lead to the first floor where the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom is found. This room features a five foot wide pine double bed. There is also a colour TV with remote control.There is a hair dryer.

A door leads to the en-suite bathroom with white suite of cast iron bath, wash basin and WC.with chrome fittings. There is a heated towel rail and a wall mounted fan heater.

Also on the middle floor is a separate shower room featuring a large shower cubicle with mains shower (ample pressure) toilet and wash basin. There is a wall mounted fan heater. From the landing the stairs continue to the second floor where a double and twin bedded room are found.
The twin room features pretty antique pine beds.

The double bedroom is brightly decorated in blue and white and also has a remote control TV.

 

 

 

 

GENERAL

LITTLE LANEY is tastefully furnished and decorated with a combination modern and antique furniture and features stripped floorboards, exposed beams, and white painted Cornish stone walls.

In the winter, heating is provided by means of electric storage heaters (Polperro has no gas). Convector heaters are also provided should you require additional heat.

The cost of the storage heaters is included. Other electricity is by means of £1 electric coin meter.

Duvets, pillows and bed linen is provided. You can provide your own towels or we can arrange towels (for use in the house only- not beach) for an additional charge. Please ask.

It is possible to park outside the cottage to unload.This is an important advantage as many holiday cottages in Polperro are not accessible by car meaning a long walk with your luggage.

There is a reserved car Parking space a few minutes away. Additional spaces are usually available for a small charge.

Local attractions:

There are plenty of things to do Locally, and the whole of Cornwall with its spectacular coastline, magnificent scenery and beaches is within comfortable motoring distance. A short walk from the cottage is Porfell Animal Land , with many exotic animals.

Looe remains one of the busiest fishing ports in Cornwall, and offers safe sandy beaches and quaint whitewashed buildings, cobbled lanes and good restaurants. Coarse fishing, shark fishing, golf, riding and watersports can all be found nearby.

The new acclaimed Eden Project is only 15 minutes away, where the majestic rainforests, the Mediterranean, South Africa and California are recreated in huge covered conservatories, or Biomes, to tell the fascinating story of mankind's dependence on plants.

Goats & Sheep

The nearby small villages of Lerryn and Lanreath give a taste of country life, with welcoming inns and friendly tea rooms for the traditional Cornish Pasties and Cream Teas.

Exploring is easy! Walk the Cornish Coastal Path and find secluded little coves and beaches, or visit Fowey, Polperro and Looe (famous for shark and deep sea fishing), with their quaint narrow streets and many good restaurants.

There are numerous beautiful gardens and National Trust Houses in the area. Truro is only 35 miles and Plymouth 25 miles away, both cities provide excellent shopping facilities.
